Pietro Fiorito, CCO of iGaming test labs, Quinel, takes part in a quick fire interview on the company’s highlights, future markets, and upcoming regulatory trends.
iGAMING TIMES: What were the top picks for Quinel this past year?
PIETRO FIORITO: We have five new colleagues with us since last year and we have strengthened our relationship with our partners, especially in the security field.
iGT: Regulation has dominated talk at trade shows this year. Which aspects of regulation have been having the most impact on your clients?
PF: Indeed, regulatory measures are becoming more strict, especially in the aspect of players’ protection and security. One of the main aspects impacting our partners (but I could say the industry in whole,) has been the ISO 27001, especially in Sweden but, even more, in the new Swiss regulation of online gaming, where this ISO standard is basically compulsory for operators and software providers.
iGT: Where in the world is regulation creating the most opportunities, both for Quinel and for international firms?
PF: Partly, being among the first to receive the new ISO Standards, we took the opportunity to assist our partners in Sweden, Switzerland. We have also been the first to get the Accreditation in The Republic of Belarus.
iGT: With offices in Buenos Aires, you have one foot firmly in the opening Argentinian market. What do you see for the future of gaming there?
PF: We were, and we are ready to assist with the new Regulation in Buenos Aires. Regrettably, due to political and Economic reasons, currently it looks like there will be a delay in the official launch of the newly-formed regulations.
iGT: Which areas of compliance do you predict gaming jurisdictions will be focusing on in the next couple of years?
PF: Definitely AML, Security and Player Protection will be the aspects of Compliance to focus on, and Quinel is ready to assist with our highly expertise and professional team.
