Esports betting platform provider Unikrn has announced two new products designed to increase the opportunities for placing bets on video game tournaments.
Both Unikrn Virtual and Unikrn Streamer Betting have been developed using the start up’s proprietary AI and odds-generation technology, in order to establish real-time and historical betting opportunities.
“This is just about increasing the engagement for those who like to watch streaming,” said CEO Rahul Sood. “This year you’ll see a lot more breadth of product from Unikrn that puts us firmly in position for the future, but also gives us a good core product for today as well.”
Unikrn Virtual uses historical match curation technology to allow wagering on already contested professional esports matches, described as “a first-of-its-kind way” to increase betting opportunity beyond live match streaming.
The risk-management system Unikrn Streamer Betting utilises AI trading algorithms alongside game analysis and screen-reading integrations to create esports odds in real time.
Already available on four continents, the product allows bettors to use live streaming platforms such as Twitch to receive automated odds when placing bets.
The announcement follows last year’s acquisition by Unikrn of esports service and tournament partner ChallengeMe, alongside a licence grant by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission to offer real money and cryptocurrency online betting.
Though the firm’s product is currently unregulated in the US, Sood added the firm was “ahead of the market,” with the US gaming industry visibly gaining momentum since the May 2018 overturn of PASPA.
