James Pierson, Program Manager, IGT Indiana, has received a Powers Award from the North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries (NASPL).
The 2018 Powers Awards were announced at the NASPL Professional Development Seminar in Orlando, Florida, held July 23-26, where recipients from the lottery industry were recognised for their critical thinking, innovation, creativity, and dedication to their trade.
Pierson has more than 10 years of experience in the lottery industry and is based in Indiana managing software requirements, as well as overseeing software quality testing, and the management of third-party customer acceptance testing.
The Hoosier Lottery nominated Pierson for his execution of the Lottery’s mobile app project. He worked closely with the business team, ensuring the players’ needs took priority, and the app was delivered in less than two months. Today, the Hoosier Lottery Mobile App is considered the gold standard by the product team when referencing new mobile deliveries with other IGT sites. Pierson’s work has been published in many white papers within IGT.
“James worked collaboratively with the Hoosier Lottery team to launch our new app with its innovative customer service features,” said Sarah M. Taylor, Executive Director of the Hoosier Lottery. “He has truly earned this special recognition from the Lottery industry.”
“James understands the importance of teamwork and is a dedicated team player,” said Matthew Whalen, IGT Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Lottery. “
The annual NASPL Professional Development Seminar brings together lottery industry employees to collaborate and share best practices about industry information, research, sales, public relations, marketing, and more. There were a total of 19 award winners and James was one of only two employees of lottery vendors to be recognised.
He is a true professional who clearly puts our customer first. On behalf of the IGT team, I’d like to congratulate James on this outstanding achievement from NASPL.”
