Meadowlands Racetrack has confirmed that Daily Fantasy Sports provider FanDuel will provide the sportsbook for its sports betting operations.
The New Jersey race circuit, which partnered with Betfair US in June, opened ten new teller windows for sports betting, in readiness for the first day of wagering on 14 July.
“We look at it like we have this unique opportunity that’s not going to last forever,” said Meadowlands chairman Jeff Gural.
“We’re the only place you can go in the city of New York, Westchester, northern New Jersey, to legally make a bet. We figured we should get up and running as soon as we could.”
The sportsbook will be fully branded as a FanDuel product, providing a large database of customer information from the prominent US DFS supplier.
FanDuel combined its operations with Betfair US in may of this year, with FanDuel CEO stating the company would become “the leading gaming destination for US sports fans.”
