Sky Betting and Gaming CEO Richard Flint has been named as the UK’s best CEO of 2018 in Glassdoor’s Employee Choice Awards.

The sixth annual award ceremony saw Flint – who has headed the company for nearly 20 years – beat competition from Microsoft boss Satya Nadella and Capital One’s Richard D. Fairbank.

Glassdoor’s Top CEO list is based on reviews an feedback from current and former employees of companies and the remaining two top five spots were occupied by Marc Benioff of Salesforce and Tim Kidd from Kantar Worldpanel.

“I’m so pleased to receive this award, particularly one that’s Richard Flintvoted for by colleagues here at Sky Betting & Gaming,” said Flint. “Our business, both commercially and in size, has come a long way in a short space of time, in an industry that is undoubtedly evolving like never before.”

Sky Bet staff reviews praised Flint calling him “approachable” and noting that there was a “clarity” to the company’s business approach under his management.

After taking over as CEO almost two decades ago, Flint has led Sky Bet onwards and upwards, and the firm now has the largest active UK online player base.

Flint added: “It’s been such a privilege to be part of a strong and supportive leadership team, maintaining the unique culture that we all value and I look forward to the next chapter in the Sky Betting & Gaming story.”
