Gibralter based operator, Lottoland, has taken a majority stake in Italian online operator Giochi24.
The move coincides with the introduction of Lottoland’s new Italian-facing platform, which launches via the firm’s newly obtained Italian licence.
The new platform will enable players in Italy to buy a ticket and play major lotteries such as SuperEnalotto and 10e Lotto, as well as instant win games, scratchcards, casino games and bingo.
“We are delighted to have partnered with Giochi24 and to enter into the regulated Italian market,” said Lottoland chief executive Nigel Birrell. “Italy is a vibrant, growing market with huge potential and we are very confident there is a strong appetite for our jackpot offering.”
The firm now holds eight national gambling licences: three in the UK, two in Gibraltar and one each in Ireland, Australia and Italy.
Paolo Di Feo, chief executive of Giochi24, said the company was thrilled to be be able to provide its Italian players with better options.
