Lottoland is launching the world’s first officially licensed Bitcoin lotto jackpot, amidst growing interest in the cryptocurrency.
The jackpot is seeded at 1,000 Bitcoins (£14.1m), with draws expected daily, excluding Sundays.
Bitcoin Lotto is based on the typical lottery format – 6/49 (choosing six numbers out of 49 balls), with the odds of winning the jackpot are 14 million to one, which the company claims is ten times more likely than winning the EuroMillions.
Lottoland CEO, Nigel Birrell, said: “We’re pleased to be able to announce the launch of this world exclusive lotto betting product.
“One thousand Bitcoins are already worth £14.1 million today, but might be worth double that by tomorrow. Bitcoin is a worldwide phenomenon, and Lottoland is giving our customers the opportunity to get involved.”
