The TV channel BT Sport will now be able to screen world title boxing matches live after signing a partnership deal with BoxNation.
[dropcap]B[/dropcap]T Sport will screen world title fights live after signing an agreement with the popular fight channel, BoxNation.
Commencing in 2017, BT Sports customers, including pubs and clubs, will be able to watch top tier boxing events live.
The types of bouts available will comprise at least 20 Saturday night events scheduled after the early evening BT Sport Premier League football match, including World, European, British and Commonwealth title fights.
The agreement with BoxNation follows BT Sport’s recent move into interantiaonl cricket which saw the channel become home to Australia’s Test matches, One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals played in Australia, including the keenly anticipated Ashes Test Series against England in 2017/18.
Commenting on the deal with BoxNation, Bruce Cuthbert, director commercial customers BT Sport, said: “Following on from our recent first steps into cricket coverage, our expanding list of sports rights will now include BoxNation and access to boxing world title bouts, all included in the price of the BT Sport subscription. We are committed to bringing our customers more live events to help drive incremental footfall and dwell time.”
